Crime is Glorified Through Video Games


 Electronic games had appeared in the market at the early 1980’s and since then, it had drawn a huge admiration from the children due to its fascination, and its abilities to entertain them with the graphics and motions animated.

According to the latest online gaming statistics for 2023, roughly 40% of the world’s population are online gamers. In 2022, the overall UK video game consumer market valuation was £7.05 billion – 17% more than that seen in the pre-pandemic time period.

We all are responsible to nurture and educate our children in crime, violence and robbery. Look at the statistics of the Grand Theft Video Games. If you type on google the purpose of it, you will find the answer, ” The main ethical issue in games like the GTA series is how crime, torture, violence, hate speech, and sexism are glorified.” 

Now if we encourage our children to play this game and governments also doesn’t ban it. It shows all are agreed with the content and want to glorify the crime in 21st century. How can we expect our future is secure in hands of reformers and humanists.

Violence is portrayed every day through television, video games, movies, music, toys and other media. Researchers have shown that most of the long term effects of violence in the media are more severe by television, movies, or music.’

Mothers and Fathers don’t have enough moral stories like ancient women to educate their kids before going to schools as well as to create their imagination. All prefer to scroll pages, chatting, online games, and online videos etc. This content fix images on mind. Mind doesn’t need to create character like verbally told stories as everything is predetermined such as colour, characters, movements, backgrounds, dialogues and forms etc.

In this context Robot will be more fit than human beings to analyse data with the help of algorithm while human beings will not be able to analyse million pages in seconds or minutes.

This is alarming situation for next generation who are becoming addicted to these apps, online games and videos. For children aged 7-18, more than two-thirds (68%) own their own games console, with a further 9% having consistent access to one.

Grand Theft Auto 5, now in its tenth year on sale, still features as one of the most popular games in the UK, with just over 815,000 copies sold. It shows that more than 815, ooo youth is being nurtured in theft, robbery and crime in UK only. If we look at other regions of this world, we are astonished to see the statistics.
